Barry first started on radio circa 1996 covering Hitchin Town FC in the capacity of the club's programme editor and press officer at the time.

He also covered a few neutral games on BBC Three Counties Radio from time to time as well as voicing the club's popular clubcall service - remember this was before the internet became a football fan's best friend!

Barry first started covering matches for BBC London in August 2000. He has covered every single club in London with the exception of one - Fulham. He would have had the full set but for illness on January 1st 2006 when he had to pull out of Portsmouth v Fulham at the last minute.
